9 patch bed quilt

9 patch blocks laid out alternating with plain blocks

The plain blocks seemed a little, well, plain. So, I decided to use a few other fabrics. It seemed to add some depth.

Here are the blocks sewn together

More of the blocks sewn together. Now I need to figure out a quilting design. It will be machine quilted....the only way there's any hope of finishing it in my lifetime.

9-patch is one of my favorite blocks...I love how you created "shading" with the darker plain blocks! looks wonderful!

Thanks, Miri. It's still waiting to be quilted, but at least I've ordered the backing and batting. I think I want to quilt in the ditch around the 9 patch blocks and use a separate design in the plain blocks. I'm trying to figure out how to do that with a minimum of starts and stops.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I just posted an answer to your question there. Love the header on your blog - and the nine-patch!
